- Smooth and solid
Like the real a lot so far. My other reel is a stradic 3000 and I feel like I can pick this one up and still feel like I have something quality in my hands. One thing I did notice is that the Procyon 3000 is a good size larger than my stradic. It's not enourmous, but I thought I may have gotten a 4000 instead. Maybe Shimano just makes their reels a bit smaller, which I like, to keep the weight down. The reel is very smooth and as the other reviewer has remarked, feels solid as well.
One thing I did notice is when I pull on the line very slowly, I feel a small click with each inch of line coming out. Now, this isn't a bad thing. I've fought a bunch of fish and the reel performed flawlessly. I think that just may be the internal mechanism in the drag. When a fish is pulling, it's the same as all other reels. Just something I noticed.
Overall, If I had the opportunity again to purchase this reel, I definitely would and from American Legacy. They were excellent to deal with!
- Great reel
Smoothest reel I ever used
- Very smooth reel
Only used the reel a couple times, but I really like it so far. Performs smoothly, and feels solid - I like the thicker bail wire. I use this reel plugging for bay stripers and halibut. Drag is very strong and smooth so far.
