Great first experience of a baitcasting reel Review by Barron

I've been fishing for 40 years and never owned or used a baitcasting reel during that time. I went bass fishing for the first time last year and my brother was using a baitcasting outfit while I used a light spinning rig. Needless to say, he kicked my butt on the day. So my goal for the return bout was to find an easy to use, reliable baitcasting reel that I wouldn't be forever picking over runs off the spool. The Shimano Chronarch came up in the top of most categories in the reviews I read, so I took the plunge and ordered one. So far, it's been easy to set up and a delight to use - tally so far has been two outings with 3 yellow belly out of my local fishing hole. Thank you to American Legacy for getting one to me quickly and without fuss. (Posted on November 7, 2011)
