All have extra-fast actions, but the tips are light so the angler can impart a subtle wiggle to the bait without a lot of wasted motion. No hard hook-set is necessary to get the fish, but rather a quick “lift” of the rod. G. Loomis Drop Shot Spinning Rods have extra soft tips so the fish can mouth the bait without little resistance from the rod. The magnum taper allows the rod to load up quickly, so once you lift it, the fish is hooked. There is a “0” and “2” power rating rod… one for light line and open water situations (“0”), and one that’s a bit stiffer for deep-water and brushy situations (“2”) when you need more power to land the fish.
