G. Loomis Classic Saltwater Popping Spinning Rods were originally designed for casting live shrimp under a cork for sea trout or redfish. But anglers soon found that these rods worked exceptionally well with soft plastics and jigs for bonefish, snook and other shallow water species.
G. Loomis Classic Saltwater Popping Spinning Rods have soft tips so the bait will land quietly, even on longer casts. They come in 2 lengths and various powers for fishing spoons, bucktails or surface lures. Very lightweight, these are powerful rods that are capable of handling large fish, including small tarpon or bigger snook. All rods feature premium "A" grade cork handles, Fuji reel seats, and Fuji guides with oversized I.D.'s to allow for heavy knots and shock tippets common when fishing in saltwater. There are 8 1-piece and two 2-piece spinning models that will meet any angler's needs. Made in the USA. Limited Lifetime Warranty included.

- This rod is a favourite of mine
Great rod for plastics and hard body Lures, casts a mile for fishing off the bank and has some serious pulling power when you hook a good size fish. The two piece is also great for travel in the car.
- Favourite rod
The G. Loomis Popping Fishing Rod PR842-2S GL3 is a rod I bought 7 years ago and broke it in an accident, I am just buying another as it is a favorite rod of mine, I have caught some big fish and the rods ability to catch big fish is why I am replacing it with another.
The 2 piece is also handy for travel.
- These rods take a beating and keep on going
I am a full time fishing guide on the middle Texas coast and I have been using these rods for my customers for 9 years I am replacing them for the first time and they get used almost daily, and I think the
7' Neptune Spinning rods are the best rods made for live bait including mostly popping corks. I have convinced a few friends. All you have to do is use one and you will be hooked. Made in the USA.
- Best rod on the planet!
I am a full time fishing guide on the middle Texas coast and the GL2 8400s has been my rod of chioce for over 8 years and the reason is that they are perfectly balanced and lightweight enough for my customers to fish all day. They are used mainly with popping cork and love shrimp. These rods take a beating and keep on going. Never had one break.
