First off I have to mention that I received this rod through the ALFC trade-in program.
I sent them some nice newish rods I never got a chance to use and I got a new Loomis rod I have been using daily.
Its an awesome program!

Second, My First cast Ever with this rod In Diverting reservoir NY, 15 minutes till sunset I caught a 16" smallmouth the largest I have caught in that particular lake all year.
I used a #3 Mepps Aglia Silver.
I released her.

I have Caught and released close to 20 nice Smallmouth up to 18" in the last week or so.
I can't remember missing any.
Also some Largemouth, some nice Yellow perch and some big Bluegills.
But its made for the big fellas!

The rod is really amazing.
First its Green.
It is amazingly light even compared to the GLX and even more sensitive... I know I know...

Casting from shore to about 40-50' Depth I can feel the 1/4 oz Kasmaster hit the gravel bottom.
Trust me you will miss many fewer fish.
The rod has terrific control, wading up to my but its much easier to keep an 18 inch Smallmouth on the line and get in the net, I have not been losing big fish, its easier to keep them underwater.
I like to use Mepps #3's, 1/4 oz Thomas spinners, and 1/4 oz Kastmasters once the bass start doing their Big acrobatics they usually just toss the metal right at you!
Not anymore.
These are truly amazing rods.

Yes they are pricey, but the way I look at it as an investment. These poles last a life time if properly taken care of. Thanks American Legacy & Thanks G. Loomis! (Posted on January 9, 2012)

Overview

Sometimes it's just difficult, especially in the wind, to cast lightweight lures and smaller soft plastics.

That used to be an issue, but no more thanks to NRX technology.

First of all, you'll be amazed at how light this rod is and if you doubt the power, just rig it up and give it a try.

Only then will you understand what high performance is all about.

Add to that sensitivity beyond belief and you've now understand NRX.

The extra-fast taper allows you to make low, accurate casts so you can fish right up under the brush - and when a real ‘toad’ grabs your bait, you’ll be in total control.

If you need a rod to cast soft plastic jerkbaits and Senko’s, this is the one.
