Quick Overview

Product Description

Our popping rods were originally designed for casting LIVE BAIT (mainly shrimp), under a popping cork out on the flats, but freshwater anglers have found umpteen other uses for them as well. These rods have a relatively soft tip, which allows your bait to land softly and QUIETLY, even on long casts, another plus when the water's skinny and the fish spook easily. At the same time, they're powerful rods, capable of handling surprisingly large fish. They come in a variety of lengths for different applications. The top four guides and tip-top feature oversized rings to handle large knots for shock tippets. GREAT rods for great fish.

A truly outstanding spinning rod for bonefish on the flats, the 842 has a light tip, yet plenty of power in the butt section to handle jigs, surface lures or live bait. It fishes at its best with 8-pound line. Freshwater trout anglers will like it for trolling with blades and bait for the lake trout and large rainbows. Lots of anglers love the 842, but prefer a two-piece version so they can stow it in their truck or the side pocket of the boat. Here it is.

A good, all around light saltwater, two-piece spinning rod with extra length for long casts and more positive long-range hooksets. The tip is light, yet powerful, making the rod good for handling bigger fish. If you prefer wade fishing to boat fishing, this is a good choice. It is capable of handling redfish, bonefish and seatrout. The two-piece configuration allows it to be stored in your car or truck as a reliable back up rod.
