Airflo Polyleaders

What is a Polyleader?

In a perfect world, flylines would have a continuous taper, finishing in tippet diameter - in the real world we do things a little differently.

Take your regular taper Mono leader and examine the stiffness of the butt section against the suppleness in the tip of your average flyline - big difference. You'll find the butt of the mono leader much stiffer and less likely to transfer energy efficiently to your fly.

Polyleaders are constructed a little differently, a level core provides the strength, coated with a tapered Polymer outer layer that provides mass and controls density.

Utilizing the same materials as our flylines, Polyleaders exhibit a similar level of suppleness, giving excellent energy transfer for smoother more accurate presentations.

Easily changed with our original welded micro loops, Polyleaders come in a variety of densities, lengths and breaking strains to cope with just about anything you'd care to throw a fly at.

How to use Polyleaders

Polyleaders come in lengths from 4' to 15' and everything in between - Using a loop to loop connection, loop the butt of the Polyleader to the loop on the tip on your flyline. Then just add tippet to the mono loop at the tip of the lader, tie on your fly and go fish.

What Breaking strength do they come in?

Polyleaders are avaialble in a full range of breaking strains to suit the species they are designed for.

What densities are available?

Everything from Floating, Intermediate, through a wide variety of sinking models are avialble - Choose the density you require ased on the depth you'd like your fly to fish. Remember in faster currents a faster sinking leader will be required to hold the same depth and in slower sinking models to hit the same depth.
