The PENN Conflict Spinning Reel CFT8000 features stealthy cosmetics, a lightweight design, and silky smooth HT-100 drag, these are just a few of the many reasons why so many anglers fish this reel. The metal body and side plate allow it to maintain precision gear alignment under severe punishment. The Techno-Balanced™ rotor ensures a smooth retrieve with complete balance. With the Superline Spool™ no backing is needed because of the rubber gasket that keeps superlines from slipping. From striper to sailfish, the Conflict was designed to perform and engineered to last.

- Very happy
I have about 10 reels. This one is my favorite so far. Great feel to it!
Awesome reel have a few of these just caught a 247 pound bluefin tuna on it with a xxh trevala shimano jigging rod awesome reel will continue to buy theses reels I also cobia fish a lot and these reels are worth every penny. I caught more than 50 cobia last year on my 6000 conflict. Enjoy tight lines
- nice inshore reel
Bought this reel to update my saltwater travel arsenal. I matched it with a two piece Ugly Stik (BWS2201270). Just got back from the Sea of Cortez where I used this outfit for light in shore fishing. Took some Bonita and a 30 pound Yellowfin on first trip. I loaded it with 300 yds of 25 pound mono (triline) and that about maxes spool out. Only con I can think of is spool is not that large considering the 8000 model is the biggest reel in the Conflict series. I would advise going to braid if you want heavier test or more capacity for serious saltwater use. I use conventional reels (Penn US113) for larger fish.
