Loomis Customer Support & Warranty

I have been buying my rods from G. Loomis since my Sr. year of High School in 1982. They were always considered expensive, but factor in Life Time warranty and great customer service made the rods worth every penny because they always stood behind their products.

Fast foward 2021 and a dozen or so rods later, I decided to treat myself to a Conquest 902s with a Stella 1000 in the seat. About a month ago while fishing the Rondout Reservoir for large Browns & Lakers I noticed the ceramic eyelet in the tip was missing while packing my gear up to head home.

I called Loomis direct and spoke with a Rep to be told I had to pay to mail it in & I'd get it back in a few weeks. I explained because it’s peak season, I’d prefer using their expeditor program where I pay 100.00 bucks no questions asked and a new replacement rod is shipped right away. I was told by the rep because it’s a Conquest, the expediter cost is now over 200.00…..mind you the Rod is 800.00 new. I balked hard and he said he’d send me the new guide free, but I’d have to have it installed at my cost or do it myself so I said “ship it”. He could tell I was pissed and said he’d escalate to his Mngr & email me the results and the shipping confirmation. A few days go by and nothing and I’m driving in my car getting hot thinking what happened to Loomis.

I get home call Loomis again and ask for a Mngr to be fed the same line of GFY, but would be happy to track down the part shipment and provide the tracking information in an email…..that was over a week ago and I still have no confirmation or part.

This is an 800.00 rod that has served me well, but w/o the customer service to back it up I can’t recommend it for the money.
