G. Loomis Crosscurrent Pro-1 Saltwater Fly Rod FR1068-1
SPECIFICATIONS: 1 Piece | Length: 8'10" | Line Weight: 8 | Power: Stiff | Taper: Fast | Handle: A | MPN: 11616-01
The 8-weight fly rod is the number one choice for the likes of bonefish, redfish, snook and a number of other saltwater species. This unique, one-piece design reduces weight because there are no ferrules. It has a very fast taper that helps you create nice, tight loops for longer casts, even in the wind. It's unbelievably quick and powerful, especially helpful when a fish runs underneath the boat. A must have rod for serious saltwater anglers that own a skiff.

- If you need an indestructible fly rod and are comfortable with a very fast action rod, buy the Pro-1. It's a beast.
I fish a lot of Florida Keys Tarpon Tournaments (Hawley, Golden Fly, Silver Kings, etc..) and these are without a doubt the best big fish rods on the market. Due to the fact that they're one piece rods, and made with a blend of materials, they're virtually indestructible. What's more, these rods throw the tightest loops of any rod I own. Keys tarpon tournaments are notorious for their lousy weather and you can pretty much count on 20 knot (or worse) winds and often, rain. In conditions like these, its imperative a rod is capable of throwing laser shots. And these sticks do exactly that. I own the CC Pro-1 in 7wt through 12wt and keep these guys as my boat rods -- whether I'm casting to redfish or fighting tourney tarpon. Between their strength as casting tools and their affordable price, the Pro-1's are a good investment for any serious fly fisherman.
