- Top option for stream trout
I was encouraged to buy this rod by what JB said in his review and I'm glad I did, because it's everything he said, and more. This rod does have the perfect action for throwing small spinners and baits on 3-4 pound test, and it balances nicely with a Stradic CI4-1000 at 5.8 oz, or maybe a slightly heavier reel. The moderate-fast action has a nice soft tip to protect light line and to help load the rod for easy stream casting, but it has plenty of power in the butt to help maintain accuracy and control. For an UL rod, it doesn't have any sloppy feel, and the bend in the blank is exactly how it's depicted by Loomis. I'm really looking forward to loading up with 3.5 # mono to fish small spinners this Spring, and am anxious to see what it can do. And - as a first time customer - I've found that Legacy truely offers the best selection, service, expertise, and price, and so I'm sure I'll be a customer of theirs for life. Good luck everybody, and thanks AL for everything.
- Excellent inline spinner rod
The best inline spinner rod I've used. It is a fast action trout rod, not wimpy at all. The handle is very comfortable for all day casting. Loomis has hit a home run with this series.
Matched up with 4 pound line, it's a great small stream rod. I think it's a little too fast for a live bait or egg rod, but does well for drifting soft plastic trout worms. Perfect for small inline spinners up to 1/8 ounce. It's by far my favorite trout rod.
