The Shimano reel cover is great. It's made of neoprene, which is a soft material so it won't scratch your reel, but sturdy enough to with stand an accidental impact from a drop on the ground. The only thing I don't like about the reel cover is that it is design to cover the reel body only. It does not cover the reel handle.
