Built upon a strong legacy with a backbone fortified by Shimano Hi-Power X technology, Shimano engineers expanded the Expride lineup with additional models and enhanced performance by adding a Carbon Monocoque handle. This innovative and lightweight hollow carbon handle increases vibration transfer through the rod and into an angler's hand for up to 30% more sensitivity for superior bite transmission. Extremely lightweight with excellent balance, the new Expride rods feature CI4+ reel seats and don Fuji SiC guides for premium angling performance. Shimano's Hi-Power X blank technology enables rod engineers to fine-tune rod actions with models specifically designed for versatility, power fishing, or throwing large swimbaits while also providing anglers with enhanced casting distance and accuracy. Shimano Expride FAQ:
Q: What is the warranty on Shimano Expride Rods?
A: Shimano offers a limited 2 Year Warranty on their Expride series of rods. If there is a breakage deemed to be the fault of craftmanship, the user will only be charged shipping costs to replace the rod. If the breakage is deemed to be that of user error, the user will be charged 40% of MSRP to get a new replacemnt. For more information on how to submit a warranty claim, click here. Shimano also offers an "Express" replacement service that is separate from their warranty process, you can find more information on that program here.
Q: Are Shimano Expride rods suitable for both freshwater and saltwater fishing?
A: Shimano Expride rods are primarily designed for freshwater fishing, although some anglers may use them for light saltwater applications. However, it's important to note that they are not specifically built to withstand the harsh conditions of constant saltwater exposure. Saltwater can corrode materials more quickly than freshwater, so using a freshwater rod in saltwater environments may lead to faster wear and potential damage to the rod. We do not necessarily recommend using your Expride for saltwater fishing, as it was designed as a true freshwater bass fishing rod.
Q: What materials are used in the construction of Shimano Expride rods?
A: Shimano Expride rods are built with a proprietary blend of high modulus graphite that is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape in an "X" pattern to offer sharp and crip rod actions. This wrap is called "Hi-Power X" and it is one of our favorite features that has ever been introduced to fishing rods. They also feature a Ci4+ reel seat which is an exclusive Shimano feature. This custom carbon reel seat lends itself to a more comfortable user experience as well as added sensitivity when fishing.
Q: What makes Shimano Expride rods stand out from other fishing rods?
A: The aforementioned Hi-Power X and Ci4+ reel seet are real standout features, but beyond that, there are over 25 unique models that are built for hyper-specific techniques ranging from forward-facing sonar finesse fishing to slinging giant glide baits.
Q: What are some tips for maintaining Shimano Expride Rods?
A: We reccomend taking care of your Shimano Expride rod the same way that we reccomend taking care of any rod. Keep the cork clean with a magic eraser and use a rod sleeve to protect your guides when storing it.
Q: How do Shimano Expride rods perform in different fishing conditions and techniques?
A: There are 20 different casting models offered in the Expride series, all built to cover any conditions or technique you would ever fish on the water. Whether you're throwing a jerkbait around chunk rock on the EXC610MB or a frog over heavy matted vegetation with the EXC73XHB, Shimano has you covered with Expride.
