Everything about the rod is nice and all, as in weight and balance. But its not a heavy action rod whats so ever. It’s a true “Medium Heavy” rod so think otherwise before purchasing. Or look at the 736 as from someone I know had say it’s more on par for a “Heavy” action rod.
One thing you won’t be able to use or try to get away with is a 1/2oz jig, even though the rod is rated for 3/8-1oz. I wouldn’t bother trying anything else over 3/8oz.
This rod is the ultimate “Texas Rig” rod though. Specifically talking “Weightless”.
