Q:  What is the warranty on Shimano Expride Rods?

A:  Shimano offers a limited 2 Year Warranty on their Expride series of rods. If there is a breakage deemed to be the fault of craftmanship, the user will only be charged shipping costs to replace the rod. If the breakage is deemed to be that of user error, the user will be charged 40% of MSRP to get a new replacemnt. For more information on how to submit a warranty claim, click here. Q:  Are Shimano Expride rods suitable for both freshwater and saltwater fishing?

A:  Shimano Expride rods are primarily designed for freshwater fishing, although some anglers may use them for light saltwater applications. However, it's important to note that they are not specifically built to withstand the harsh conditions of constant saltwater exposure. Saltwater can corrode materials more quickly than freshwater, so using a freshwater rod in saltwater environments may lead to faster wear and potential damage to the rod. We do not necessarily recommend using your Expride for saltwater fishing, as it was designed as a true freshwater bass fishing rod.

Q:  What materials are used in the construction of Shimano Expride rods?

A:  Shimano Expride rods are built with a proprietary blend of high modulus graphite that is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape in an "X" pattern to offer sharp and crip rod actions. This wrap is called "Hi-Power X" and it is one of our favorite features that has ever been introduced to fishing rods. They also feature a Ci4+ reel seat which is an exclusive Shimano feature. This custom carbon reel seat lends itself to a more comfortable user experience as well as added sensitivity when fishing.
